DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Twelve people including several police officers were injured in an explosion in Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday, ARY News reported.
According to details, the explosives — planted by terrorists — went off when a police mobile was on a patrol duty at Bannu Road. Twelve persons including several policemen were reported injured in the blast.
Rescue teams reached the scene and shifted the victims to a medical facility for treatment of their injuries.
Law enforcement agencies surrounded the area following the explosion and launched a search operation for the arrest of the suspects.
It is pertinent to mention that National Action Plan (NAP) was launched after the heinous attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar in December 2014 in a bid to deal with the menace of terrorism in the country.
However, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has questioned the performance of Interior Ministry over the implementation of NAP following a series of terrorist attacks in the country.
Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has been a target of criticism over the implementation of the action plan against terrorists.
