KARACHI: Police on Sunday apprehended a four-member gang including a woman involved in abducting from Sukhan area in Karachi, ARY News reported.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir said Phoolan Devi of Malir was also involved in abducting and ransom.
“The suspects would kidnap people for a short term and seek ransom. They would kidnap their target by inviting him to a specific location through the female suspect,” he said.
The police officer said the suspects were arrested using advanced technology from Labour Square in the metropolis. He said weapons, ransom money and looted mobile phones were also recovered from their possession.
The SSP Malir said the suspects had committed kidnapping in various areas including Defence and Korangi. He said the weapons recovered from the suspects had been sent for forensic.

Another incident of short-term kidnapping by police officials in plain clothes emerged in Karachi as a citizen was abducted and released by security officials after snatching his documents and other valuables, ARY News reported.
On April 17, a citizen, Abdul Aziz, who had arrived from Dubai was allegedly kidnapped and tortured by plainclothes cops in the metropolis. However, he was later released by the officials after keeping his important documents, cash and valuable mobile phone.
A citizen, Abdul Aziz, had told ARY News that he was allegedly kidnapped from Malir by plainclothes cops and illegally kept into custody for three days near Quaidabad.
