PML-N’s Liaquat Ali Jatoi defects to PTI

ISLAMABAD: Prominent politician Liaquat Ali Jatoi on Thursday announced to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), ARY News reported.

The veteran politician made his decision public after a meeting with chairman PTI Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala. Jatoi also announced to hold a public meeting in his native town in district Dadu on April 22 which will be addressed by Imran Khan.

Jatoi was affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The PTI has vowed to strengthen the party in Sindh after former provincial chief Nadir Leghari joined the Pakistan Peoples Party.

Jatoi had formed Sindh Awami Ittehad during exile period of Nawaz Sharif, which was merged with PML-N when Sharif returned to Pakistan.

He also served as Chief Minister Sindh in 1997 besides holding various key ministries including Finance, Excise and Taxation, Industries and Production, and Water and Power.
