LAHORE: Furious workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday created chaos in different parts of Punjab in protest against arrest of supreme leader of their party Nawaz Sharif who is returning from London after about a month’s stay there.
Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and fined eight million pounds in the Avenfield Reference case by an accountability court, which awarded seven years jail to Maryam besides a fine of two million pounds. Maryam’s husband Safdar is already in jail for one year.
The party activists pelted stones at police officials at Scheme Morr and Ravi Bridge leaving several cops injured injured.
Police said those creating anarchy will be dealt with iron hand.
