ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) separately have been celebrating Thanksgiving Day on Friday (today) across the country, however PTI also observing Day of Deliverance as Panamagate verdict came out last day, ARY News reported.
The split-judgment of the Supreme Court in Panama Papers case carried an order seeking formation of joint investigation team to probe offshore wealth sources of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family cheered by both the ruling and opposition parties by separately perceiving the court ruling as triumph and both parties called to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.
For PML-N’s point of view, the party head Nawaz Sharif was not disqualified, hence its victory to the ruling party.
Contrary to it, the PTI leadership was of the opinion that two judges out of five have disqualified the premier and rest of the three were not convinced with the evidences provided by Sharif family by ordering for joint investigation team was sheer defeat to the ruling party.
The PTI activists across the country have been asked to offer special prayers for the health and long life of two judges who noted the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was no more honest and should be disqualified.
PTI Spokesman Naeem-ul-Haq has said that the party activists would offer special prayers over, as what he termed, the beginning of salvation from corrupt and unjust system.
The party spokesman further said that meal to poor would also be offered after Friday prayers as a way of expressing gratitude to almighty.
Moreover, PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique after the apex court’s judgment was of the opinion that Nawaz Sharif, PML-N, their voters and all Pakistanis who were advocates of democracy had won.
