PM Sharif discusses defence cooperation with Bahrain King

During the meeting, the PM emphatically stated that eradication of terrorism in all its forms is the major priority of his government.

The two sides agreed that mutual defense cooperation is particularly significant in the wake of ever increasing menace of terrorism. The prime minister said Pakistan follows a policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

He said Pakistan was an attractive investment destination because of government’s liberal investment policy and high rate of return. He said there was immense scope to expand the existing volume of 200 million dollars bilateral trade between Pakistan and Bahrain.

Sharif emphasized the need of reactivating Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Business Council which was established in 2007. He said Pakistan and Bahrain share common perceptions on many regional and international issues.

Meanwhile, PM Sharif met with King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at Sakhir Palace in Manama.

The Prime Minister extended invitation to the King of Bahrain to attend first ever Islamic Summit on Science and Technology which is scheduled to take place in Islamabad later this year.

Nawaz Sharif appreciated Bahrain’s offer of establishing a medical college in Pakistan.

Earlier, the two premiers also held one on one meeting.
