PM says Karachiites are happy as “liveliness returning to city”

Speaking at a briefing on Operation Zarb-e-Azb and return of the internally displaced persons to their homes in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, he said the tribal people had to leave their homes for a limited period to help the security forces carry out an effective operation against the terrorists in the area.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehtab Ahmed Khan, and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif accompanied the prime minister.

The PM said the state has high regard for patriotism and sacrifice of the people in the tribal areas.

The prime minister was briefed that most of the areas in North Waziristan have been cleared of terrorists in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Later, Mr. Sharif distributed cheques worth Rs 8.7 million among the people affected by rain and storm in Peshawar and nearby districts.
