Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PCB Chief Najam Sethi and others congratulated Pakisran cricket team on securing a top slot in ICC ODI rankings by defeating New Zealand in the 4th One Day International match.
“Today is a great day as Pakistan has become the top-ranked ODI cricket team. The manner in which the Green Shirts have defeated New Zealand to book a top slot in the ICC rankings is simply outstanding”, the Prime Minister stated in a Twitter post.
“My heartiest congratulations to Pakistan Cricket Team, PCB, Babar Azam and the nation”, he added.

Committee Najam Sethi said: “I congratulate Pakistan Captain Babar Azam, the entire team and the coaching staff, who deserve congratulations on this momentous occasion. I am proud of this team and wish them all the best,” he said.
The team secured the first position in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings by defeating New Zealand in the fourth ODI by a massive margin of 102 runs. Australia and India also have 113 points each, but Pakistan secured the top spot due to their better ranking in the previous matches.
England and New Zealand are at number four and number five, respectively.
