ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk has sought a report from the Ministry of Interior on how did PTI chief Imran Khan’s close aide Zulfiqar Hussain Bukhari aka Zulfi Bukhari fly out of the country despite being on the no-fly list.
According to details, the interim prime minister has taken notice of the PTI leader’s travelling abroad in violation of travel restrictions and sought a report from the interior ministry.
On Monday, Mr Bukhari along with Imran Khan, his wife Bushra and other party leaders traveled to Saudi Arabia via a chartered flight to perform Umrah.
Initially, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration staff at Benazir Bhutto International Airport had stopped the PTI leader from flying to Saudi Arabia, but later allowed him to leave the country.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also taken exception to Mr Bukhari’s going abroad despite being on the ECL.
The PTI leader faces NAB inquiries for owning offshore companies and having assets beyond his known sources of income.
He has been summoned by the Bureau several times in connection with these inquiries, but he never appeared before it.
