Imran Khan said investment would only return to country once corruption was eradicated to the core.

Giving the example of accountability drive in Beijing, he said China collared 400 bigwigs involved in corrupt practices during the last five years, but Pakistan couldn’t take such an initiative.

On poverty alleviation, the prime minister said China has achieved in the last thirty years which no country could achieve so far and that is lifting 700 million people out of poverty. He said Pakistan will follow the model to alleviate poverty from the society by taking similar steps.

Referring to overseas Pakistanis, the prime minister said they are our great asset and have always responded to a call to the nation.

It is the need of the hour to strengthen accountability institutions to make Pakistan corruption-free, said Mr. Khan.

Imran Khan also said his government in Pakistan had initiated deep and meaningful reforms to ensure transparency and accountability and provide ‘seamless smart solutions for the government and the people’.
