PM Imran to travel via Sir Syed Express train: Sheikh Rasheed

LAHORE: Federal Railways’ Minister Sheikh Rasheed said on Friday that Prime Minister Imran Khan will travel through Sir Syed Express upon his arrival in Rawalpindi after completion of visits to China and Iran, ARY News reported.

Sheikh Rasheed, while addressing a press conference in Lahore, said that PM Khan will pay visits to China and Iran.

Revealing further plans, the minister said that the premier will invite Chinese and Iranian ambassadors and their families for a rail journey. He added that the foreign envoys along with their families will be taken to Attock Khurd through a train.

He said that PM Khan will be given a luncheon in Rawalpindi after returning from visits to both countries. He said that Imran Khan will travel through Sir Syed Express and it will be taken as an honour for Pakistan Railways.

The minister further made announcements for laying the foundation stone of a post-graduate college and upgradation of a degree college to university.

Rasheed said that he has heard an interview of Aitzaz Ahsan, a senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), where he was criticising verdicts of bail petitions. Ahsan had said for not getting any example of such verdicts in bails across the world, the minister said.

Commenting over Indian elections, he predicted that situation could be worsened if Narendra Modi failed to grab a number of required votes in recent polls. The minister claimed that Modi could worse situation of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) through his network.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Provincial Law Minister Basharat Raja, Food Minister Sami Chaudhry and Excise Minister arrived at Lahore railway station to travel to Rawalpindi through a passenger train.
