ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday paid a visit to newly elected PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, ARY News reported.
According to an official statement, the army chief met Abbasi at the Prime Minister House here.
General Bajwa discussed the professional matters pertaining to the army with the prime minister.
This is the first meeting between the COAS and Prime Minister Abbasi following the latter’s election to the country’s top office.
Prime Minister Abbasi lauded the role of the armed forces in counter-terrorism operations, especially Operation Radd ul Fassad and Khyber-4. He said the nation was proud of the sacrifices made by the security forces in whipping out terrorism from the country.
