PM fires broadsides at ‘proponents of Naya Pakistan’ in KP

Addressing a rally at Mansehra University, PM Sharif said PML-N government is initiating most of the projects in Khyber Pakhtunkwa despite not having a government in the province.

“Where is Naya Pakistan,” said the PM as as direct jibe to Imran Khan’s popular tagline of building Naya Pakistan.

We keep on priority agenda of addressing public issues, health improvement, and not focus on ‘dharnas’, he said.

INAUGURATION OF DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

PM Nawaz Sharif announced that Thanol gas pipeline project. However, this is the fourth time the project has been announced since the last 24 years whereas the people of Thanol are still deprived of gas facility.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) inaugurated the project in 1992 and later in 2010. The PML-N also laid a foundation stone in the previous years, whereas this is the fourth time since the project has been announced.

PM Sharif announced to give Rs 1 billion to the university for its uplift, in addition Rs 688 million released to the varsity some days ago.

He also promised to give numerous laptops to students of Mansehra University. He said that the standard of of Hazara University will be raised to the international level.

He announced Rs 200 million for creating cemeteries in four districts of KP.

PM Sharif said he declined the proposal of  OGRA to raise petroleum prices. The government will bear a loss of Rs 8 billion but it will be overlooked for the sake of the people.

“We are now commencing motorway from Havelian to Shinkiari, which consists of six lanes.” Nawaz Sharif also inaugurated the Havelia-Thanot motorway.

“I will lay network of motorways across the province that will take Pakistan forward in terms of development,” said the PM.

PRIME MINISTER’S WARNING TO OPPONENTS: 

The PM said that the people will throw out those who are a hindrance in the development of the country. He reminded that all development projects in KP since 1990 were built by the PML-N government. “I am the person who not just cuts a ribbon, but also ensures the project is completed on time,” he remarked.

Without naming anyone, he responded to his critics, “you must carefully take steps, otherwise people will throw you out.”

He reiterated that 2018 will be the year of eradication of load shedding in Pakistan.
