ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Barrister Shahzad Akbar said on Saturday PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz will have to surrender at any cost if the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team has warrants for his arrest.
Speaking to ARY News, he said the Supreme Court in a recent judgment had interpreted the NAB law, saying the bureau doesn’t need court permission to arrest a suspect.
“NAB is entitled to make arrests at any time as per its law,” he explained, slamming Hamza for what he said hiding inside his home while NAB officials are standing outside his residence to arrest him.
Shehzad Akbar said the PML-N leader is using party workers to evade his arrest. The corruption watchdog had also issued multiple notices to Hamza’s younger brother but he was on the run, he added.
He alleged Hamza laundered money using his servants.
The prime minister’s aide asked the PML-N leader to surrender to the NAB team without delay.
