PIA steward jailed for five years over passports smuggling

According to foreign newspaper, Shaukat Ali Cheema was arrested from Birmingham after he was found with 26 passports and 37 passport bio-data pages hidden in specially tailored underpants.

Moreover, 13 driving licenses, hidden in his pockets and compartments sewn into the underpants, were also recovered by the authorities.

National Crime Agency (NCA) has stated that Cheema had worked for 40 years for Pakistan’s national airliner.

NCA’s Dawn Cartwright stated that the recovered documents were for people in the Europe and beyond.

He added that driving licenses could have been for the people who weren’t qualified or can’t safely drive on the roads. He added that the fake documentations help the criminals to escape the law enforcers.
