PIA to probe officers showering currency notes in Islamabad office

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) administration has launched a probe against two of its officers, Usman and Amjad Durrani, for showering currency notes in the office.

The airline took notice of the news aired at ARY News showing one of the officers, Sales Manager Amjad Durrani, seen showering 1000-rupee notes on his colleague Usman during office hours in Islamabad’s sales department.

According to our correspondent, the cash was generated from sales of airline tickets which had to be deposited into the airline account. It is mandatory for the officer to deposit sales receipts in the bank account regularly.

Taking notice of the incident, the PIA spokesperson confirmed an inquiry into the matter but denied the amount was collected through sales, rather claimed the money belonged to the officers.

Disciplinary action will be taken against the two officers, said the national airlines spokesperson said.
