PIA employees record yet another 'corruption tale'

PIA staff at Allama Iqbal International Airport committed tax fraud worth Rs 10 million.

Investigations revealed that tax collected in 24 days of August from Allama Iqbal International Airport was not deposited in airliner’s account.

All the four shift in-charges at Lahore station kept filling their pockets by charging Rs 5000 from every passenger during these 24 days and hence causing Rs 10 million loss to the national airliner.

Authorities have begun investigating station managers, terminal managers and counter in-charges of all four shifts.

The initial inquiry report of the fraud has been forwarded to PM’s Aviation Adviser Shujaat Azeem.
