Five of Peshawar school attackers were locals: sources

Security sources on Monday told that out of seven terrorists involved in the Peshawar school attack, five were Pakistani citizens; however the identities of the other two could not be confirmed as yet.

It was further told that the mastermind of the attack was operating from Afghanistan, who was directly monitoring the attack and was giving directions to his men.

However, no further details were revealed in this regard.

On December 16, last year, seven Taliban militants had attacked a military-run school in Peshawar resulting in over 150 casualties, with majority of children.

All of the seven attackers were subsequently killed in ambush with security forces.
