According to details, beer bottles and liquor worth more than 20 million rupees was seized as Coast Guards on a tip off raided Baro area near Makran Coastal Highway and recovered liquor hidden in bushes.
A total number of 4152 bottles, 658 tonnes of liquor and 26 wine bags were seized. The worth of the seized stuff is said to be worth 17 million.
Coast Guard spokesperson said that the liquor was to be smuggled from Karachi to a foreign country adding that an investigation has been launched after registering a case against unknown smugglers.
Makran Coastal Highway is a 653 km-long coastal highway along Pakistan’s Arabian Sea coastline. It is a part of Pakistan’s National Highways network. It runs primarily through Balochistan province between Karachi and Gwadar, passing near the port towns of Ormara and Pasni.
