Parliamentarians advise Nawaz not to resign as PM

The session of National Assembly was chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. Nawaz Sharif was present in the session today as well.

In the session, Chairman of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Mehmood Khan Achakzai said that Nawaz Sharif should not quit as Prime Minister regardless of the price he will have to pay. He also said that a rally will be taken out from Peshawar till Karachi in favor of the parliament.

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) said that they do not want an atmosphere of civil war to take place in the country. Fazl stated that PM should announce that he will not step down from office.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Rasheed Godel said that the MNAs should configure their strategy for the situation.

Shazia Marri of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) said that that no one will be allowed to offend the Parliament and the constitution. Ejaz Jakhrani of PPP asked that why should Nawaz Sharif resign as Prime Minister.

Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentarian Riaz Pirzada said that the privilege of the National Assembly being undermined with the demand of resignation of Prime Minister.

The assembly session was adjourned till 11:00 a.m on Thursday.
