Talking to media on Saturday, the JUI-F chief asserted that the Panamagate case should not be linked with corruption as what he termed it a conspiracy to mar the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. “The Panamagate was not an issue rather than anti-development tactic by some forces to sabotage ongoing countrywide development projects with corruption allegations,” he opined.
Terming the present political turmoil as a great game, Rehman said: “India and United States want to mar the CPEC as it is a game-changer. China and Pakistan are under a target for strong ties between the two countries and being emerging economies,” he said.
The JUI-F chief said a perception is being given by design that confrontation and chaos exist among the state institutions but the country could not afford any crisis.
Last day, he took a jibe at Opposition leader Khursheed Shah and said: “You are siding with those from whom you have been protecting democracy in the country.”
The leaders of opposition parties are insisting on an unwarranted demand of resignation from an elected prime minister. “The ethical gurus are teaching moralities to one who is their prime minister constitutionally,” Rehman said while implying the opposition is making an unethical demand.
He insisted the premier should not resign on anyone’s demand.
