ISLAMABAD: Foreign Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Saturday said Pakistan will attend the 12-nation peace conference on Afghanistan scheduled to be held in Moscow on 14th of next month.
“The extraordinary conference, on devising ways to end the conflict in the war-torn country, is a follow-up to earlier meetings hosted by Russia on Afghanistan,” he said in an interview with PTV News.
He said Pakistan is committed to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan and will participate in all efforts for peace in the war-torn country. Because, he said, a peaceful and stable Afghanistan is in Pakistan’s best interest.
The meeting will be attended by 12 countries, including host Russia, Pakistan, China, Iran, India and several Central Asian states.
Nafees Zakaria said Pakistan believes in an Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process bringing all stockholders to the negotiating table.
