Pakistan reacts to UAE’s criticism of its neutrality on Yemen

Pakistan after all broke its silence and openly reacted to the statement by the UAE minister. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar said that such a statement by a UAE minister is a ‘moment of concern and subtle oppression’.

He also said that the statement is in contrast with all diplomatic etiquettes.

“Pakistani nation is an honorable nation and its masses have feelings for their Muslim brothers including people of Saudi Arabia and Emiratis, yet such a statement by an Emirati minister is similar to disrespecting the Pakistani people”, Nisar lamented.

Earlier, UAE Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash in his tweet had said that Pakistan

is required to show a clear stand in favor of its strategic relations with the six-nation Arab Gulf Cooperation Council, as contradictory and ambiguous views on this serious matter will have a “heavy price” to pay.

The tweet further read that Islamabad and Istanbul hold Tehran more important than the Gulf States.

In response to the hanging of Jamaat e Islami (JI) leader Kamaruzzaman in Bangladesh, the minister expressed immense grief and questioned that what kind of humanity is that a person was executed after 45 years, for supporting the then constitutional regime.
