Pakistan protests unprovoked Indian firing at LoC

The Director General (SA& SAARC) today called the Indian Deputy High Commissioner to the Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan and protest Indian firing at the Line of Control (LoC) in Kotli Sector on 15 to 16 August, which resulted in martyrdom of three civilians, Shafi Khan age 55 years, Shahpal Khan age 56 and Sara Khatoon wife of Mohammad Ashraf.

Moreover, fifteen civilians were also injured as a result of unprovoked firing by Indian troops.

The Deputy High Commissioner was conveyed that the Indian side must investigate the incident, share the findings of the investigations with Pakistan, instruct its troops to respect the Ceasefire, in letter and spirit, and maintain peace on the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan notes with regret and deep concern that during the last two months, so far, there have been 70 ceasefire violations from the Indian side of the LoC and the Working Boundary.
