Pakistan is supportive of a stable Afghanistan, says PM Nawaz

Speaking to media in London, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan had signed a pact that they will not allow their soils to be used against each other.

“Pakistan is supportive of a stable Afghanistan”, he said.

He added that the overall regional situation will improve if Afghanistan is peaceful.

“Pakistan is a member of the four-nation committee for peace in the neighbouring country”, PM Nawaz said.

The prime minister said that Pakistan is investigating the allegations of India regarding the Pathankot air base attack.

He added that Pakistan itself became a mediator between Saudi Arabia and Iran. He expressed optimism that the bilateral ties between the two countries will improve soon.

PM Nawaz said that the National Action Plan (NAP) was being implemented against the terrorists in the country.
