ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Friday said that India’s recent success in international diplomacy is more because of incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government’s inefficiency than the neighbouring country’s excellence on the diplomatic front, ARY News reported.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the former president said that the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is lobbying with different countries around the world against Pakistan but our current government has failed to effectively respond to this challenge.
“They (the PML-N government) are deceived by the idea that they can work with him or make Greater Punjab but this won’t happen, we will not allow this to happen,” said Zardari.
He added that in case India resorts to any misadventure against Pakistan “we are ready to respond to the challenge in a befitting manner”.
The PPP co-chairman was of the view that India’s current government is turning a secular country created by Nehru and Gandhi into a Hindu Rashtra.
The former president once again accused PML-N of trying to weaken state institutions to strengthen their hold over power and said that the party is only securing victories in by-polls by using state resources.
Flanked by his party’s top brass, Zardari vowed to go into next general elections with a people-centric manifesto to steer Pakistan out of troubles.
