Clamping down terror: Bank accounts of Jamaat-ud-Dawa frozen

Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam in a briefing here said that Pakistan has taken the decision under the UN obligation and not under any pressure from any side,  a state radio report said.

The spokesperson said that assets of all banned organisations in Pakistan have been ceased.

Aslam said that the Haqqani Network has also been banned in the country adding that the group does not have bank accounts in Pakistan.

The Haqqani Network named after the group’s founder Afghan warlord Jalaluddin Haqqani, held responsible for some of the deadliest attacks on foreign troops in Afghanistan was declared a terrorist group by the United States in 2012.
