RAWALPINDI: Remarks of former chief of army staff (COAS) General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa on combat preparedness were quoted ‘out of context’ said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.
Reacting to the questions being raised on the war preparedness of Pakistan armed forces, the ISPR said the forces are fully equipped with the latest war weapons which is always on standby.
“Pakistan armed forces are always ready to defend the homeland.”
The ISPR noted that the statement of the former chief of army staff General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa was taken ‘out of context’ and questions were raised on the armed forces’ combat capabilities.

Army assures the people of Pakistan that we always took and will continue to take pride in our operational preparedness and utmost combat worthiness and are ready to deal with any challenge to ensure the country’s sovereignty, the ISPR statement reads.
Earlier it emerged that former COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa reportedly told two senior journalists that the Pakistan Army lacked the ammunition and economic strength.
