Karakorum Eagle Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft can detect aerial as well as sea surface targets at fairly long ranges regardless of their height.
In his remarks on the occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif praised the PAF and underlined that the country is determined to safeguard its national interests and uphold its sovereignty against any aggressor.
He said history of PAF is replete with acts of heroism, sacrifices and professionalism.
Speaking on the occasion, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt said induction of Karakoram Eagle AWACS would revolutionise the force to effectively counter all threats against Pakistan’s aerial frontiers.
