MANSEHRA: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said his political opponents were hell-bent on getting him put behind the bars, ARY News reported.
“I will need your votes to change the law in the parliament to revoke the disqualification verdict and be declared qualified again. I have refused to bow down and hope the masses would help me in this regard,” he said while addressing a rally in Mansehra.
He said they (the opponents) abhorred him, who was loved by the people.
Sharif said the most talked-about ‘new Pakistan’ was nowhere to be seen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He vowed that six-lane artery will be constructed by next year up to Shah Maqsood, Abbotabad and Mansehra.
“Should you wish to see new Pakistan, go to Punjab and Lahore,” he said.
He said his government brought the CPEC project to Mansehra and Mansehra and Hazara Division were going to become hub of Pakistan and global trade with this project.
The deposed prime minister said if given a chance, he would construct dilapidated KP.
He said people did not accept the Supreme Court’s disqualification verdict against him.
Nawaz said he had no competition with former president Asif Zardari and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan. He said he would mop up his opponents in the general elections 2018.
