The explosion was heard in the far flung areas of the city. Thick clouds of smoke were hovering over the area after the blast.
Police and rescue teams arrived at the spot and shifted the wounded to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
Eye witnesses said that they were working in the factory when the explosion took place.
