RAWALPINDI: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Thursday said the Panama Papers is a reality which has been accepted by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
However, Chaudhry was of the opinion that the matter of the controversial new story, which leaked from a high-level meeting and was published by an English daily, was even more sensitive than the Panama Papers.
He questioned why a First Inquiry Report (FIR) had not been lodged over the breach of national security. “Official security breach is a bigger problem than Panama,” he said.
Chaudhry, who has ventured into politics after forming the Justice and Development Party, said that if the Prime Minister was sincere then he would not have allowed the breach from a meeting chaired by him. “Nawaz Sharif failed to control how the story came out,” he said.
He said that breach gave an opportunity for our enemies which was completely unnecessary. He called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
