No room for military courts in constitution, says ex-CJ

Talking to media here on Tuesday, Iftikhar Chaudhry said, “In the presence of an independent judiciary, formation of military courts is unconstitutional”.

He said that the ones trying to weaken the judiciary cannot succeed in their motives.

“Both the military and the judiciary have their own roles, and every institution should remain within its constitutional ambits”, suggested the ex-CJ.

He slammed the joint decision making process between the military and the parliamentary committee.
