Talking to media here, the interior minister said that assemblies are the best forum for taking up public issues and that announcing a strike or sit-in over an issue is inappropriate for a democratic society.
“Progress of the country is related to Karachi and such a announcement there is condemnable,” he said.

Nisar also said that the role of Pakistan Rangers is significant for the restoration of peace in Karachi.
Speaking about recent actions against some foreign NGOs, he said, “We are aimed at ensuring observance of formal procedures and the law and in the first phase the Ministry of Interior is focused at international NGOs operating inside Pakistan”.
“We will continue to obstruct the way of those indulged in wrong practices,” asserted the minister.
