Nisar says advised Nawaz not to attack judiciary

FATEH JANG: Disgruntled Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar on Tuesday said that former premier Nawaz Sharif is suffering due to his own mistakes, ARY News reported.

Addressing an election rally in Fateh Jang city, Nisar said that he had advised Nawaz against confronting the institutions and attacking judiciary.

“I told him you should not attack judiciary but seek justice from it,” said Nisar, adding that the PML-N supreme leader didn’t pay heed to his advice.

He lamented that Nawaz’s so-called well wishers have landed him in jail.

Nisar, who also served as interior minister under Nawaz, said the country is at critical juncture so all should join hands in the larger interest of the country.

It is pertinent to note here that the former PML-N stalwart Chaudhry Nisar is contesting as an independent candidate on four seats – two National Assembly and two Punjab Assembly seats.

NA-59 (Rawalpindi), NA 63 (Taxila) and Punjab Assembly’s PP-10 and PP-12 will see Nisar contesting polls on ‘jeep’ symbol.

The new constituency of NA-59 comprises areas such as Chakri, Chontra, Saddar Baironi, Adiyala, Rawat and other adjoining areas.

Disqualified for life, Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz are serving a jail term in compliance with a July 6 accountability court verdict in the Avenfield case.
