Nisar says he is not a traditional politician, urges to vote for jeep

RAWALPINDI: Disgruntled Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday said that he was not a traditional politician, and the respect is earned not through holding office, but rather by serving the people.

Addressing a campaign rally in Chak Jalaldin Rawalpindi, the former interior minister said that he has a deep connection with the people of the area and has always served them whenever he was given the opportunity.

“This is the area of respectful people. When I held my first rally here, ninety percent of the people were poor here,” he said adding the people will shown dreams which were never achieved.

He said that he could have covertly applied for a party ticket but he has never applied for one in his whole political career.

He said even Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan offered him a ticket, but he instead chose not to contest through any party but rather as an independent candidate.

“Imran Khan invited me to come over, would give as many tickets as desired,” he said. “I decided not to contest through any party but the ticket of the servants of God.”

He said the July 25 general elections will witness whether the ticket of the party or the people is more powerful.

“Ride the jeep, and even overload the jeep,” he said adding he will await the decision of the people of Chak Jalaluddin who should vote for the jeep and make him successful.

“I’m not a traditional politician. Respect is earned not by holding office but the content of the character.”
