KARACHI: Responding to a contempt of court notice, a reporter of a local media house has admitted contacting a judge to take information regarding Panama Leaks case, ARY News reported.
Reporter of The News newspaper, Ahmad Noorani has submitted his response to the Supreme Court in which he has admitted that he tried to contact a judge of the apex court to get information pertaining to the Panama case.
“After failing to get correct information regarding an administrative issue pertaining to proceedings of Panama Judgment Implementation Bench from the of Registrar of SC for two days (July 3 and 4, 2017), I contacted publicly available official landline number of Honorable Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan on July 4 in night,” he said.

He said Justice Ejaz himself received his call and the judge refused to discuss anything privately and said he always spoke through his judgments or in the courtroom.
Ejaz Afzal was among the five-member bench of SC which heard the Panamagate case against the PM.
Noorani also said the news published in The News on June 20 was true which said that the prime minister’s son Hussain Nawaz’s plea regarding photo leak was turned down.
The court had observed that Jang and The News were reporting false news regarding Panama case.
While, he claimed, other media houses published wrong news in regarding the photo leak.
