ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday dismissed a petition filed by former premier Nawaz Sharif seeking simultaneous decision in three corruption cases filed against him by the anti-graft watchdog.
A two-judge bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohson Akhtar Kayani announced the verdict after hearing arguments from Mr. Sharif’s lawyer and a NAB prosecutor.
It dismissed the petition for being infructuous.
The former premier had approached the high court seeking its directives for the accountability court to decide the three cases against him at the same time.
Ousted premier Nawaz Sharif and his family members are facing three references pertaining to the Avenfield properties, the Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment Co filed by the NAB under the directives of the Supreme Court in its July 28, 2017 Panama Papers judgement.
A NAB court in Islamabad is hearing corruption references against him and his family members.
Sharif’s lead counsel Khawaja Haris continued his final arguments in the Avenfield properties case before the accountability court on Friday.
