ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif says some people are afraid of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) win in the upcoming general elections.
While interacting with journalists at the premises of the accountability court hearing graft cases against him, Sharif said schemes were being spun to prevent his party from succeeding in the 2018 elections.
“Nawaz Sharif and PML-N’s win in the polls is certain,” he claimed.
The PML-N supreme leader said that the cases against him and members of his family were being dragged on despite no corruption has been proved and that efforts were afoot to punish him at any cost.
He said the entire nation had become aware of what was in the case and added that the case was aimed to stop him and his party from winning the coming elections.
He said these were not the Senate elections that someone could stop them, adding that the people’s voice cannot be silenced.
The former premier said he saw the PML-N’s win in 2018 elections, and added that some people are desiring that his party boycott the elections.
He also continued with his criticism of the Supreme Court’s July 28 verdict that ousted him from the prime minister’s office.
