In an exclusive report by ARY News investigative journalist Asad Kharal, it is revealed that the decision to drop the case was taken in the NAB executive board meeting headed by Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.
The case was disposed of due to the delay in bringing an indictment.
Chairman NAB remarked during the meeting in Islamabad that even the former chairman could not solve the case which accuses PM of illegal appointments in PIA and ordered the case to be dropped.
The case was awaiting verdict since 2000.
“A written notification has been issued in this regard and DG NAB will inform the Prime Minister about the closure of case through a letter”, claimed Kharal in his report.
The NAB meeting took place on January 7, 2015.
Sources claimed that the news of the closure of case was deliberately kept secret from the media.
