QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Sunday released first quarterly report pertaining to corruption cases in Balochistan, ARY News reported.
At least 12 people were apprehended in different money embezzlement cases, said the NAB Balochistan report.
The NAB Balochistan had launched investigation into 20 complaints, while 13 cases were referred to the relevant departments.
The spokesperson of NAB Balochistan said six references had been filed against corrupt officials of different departments.
“Several suspects were given punishments from the accountability courts,” he said.
On April 10, Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal had said the NAB had recovered Rs 303 billion in different cases till date and deposited them to the national treasure.

Iqbal was speaking to NAB officers during a meeting in Islamabad. Chairman NAB had said the bureau was implementing its policy that stipulates ‘accountability for all’.
He had directed prosecutors to file applications for earliest hearings of different references.
“We see fight against corruption as our national responsibility,” he had told the meeting. He had said taking mega corruption cases to their logical end was the top priority of NAB.
Javed Iqbal had vowed to bring back home “all the plunderers of national wealth” who had ‘fled abroad’.
