The court ordered the government to incorporate Hamid’s name among two others as co-accused in its new petition in Musharraf treason case.
Following the court’s verdict, Mr. Hamid submitted his resignation to the prime minister. He said he could not continue his responsibilities as a minister after court order for his nomination as co-accused in Musharraf treason case.
According to spokesman of the prime minister, the government has prepared a plea to insert Hamid’s name into the Exit Control List.
Hamid was the Minister for Law in 2007 at the time when ex-president imposed emergency on Nov 3, 2007.
The Special Court on Friday (today) ordered the federal government to file a new petition in the Article-VI case against former President Pervez Musharraf.
The court hearing the case partially accepted the petition filed by Musharraf to include other members of his cabinet in the treason case against him.
