The Rabita Committee clarified that transport and business activities will not be hindered by the day of mourning.
MQM asked all its supporters to observe day of mourning everywhere across the country and pray for those martyred by police shelling in Islamabad’s constitution avenue.
The committee categorically condemned police brutality on peaceful protestors of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) adding that the culprits must be brought to justice.
It must be remembered that scores of protestors have been killed and many injured when police manhandled PTI and PAT workers protesting in Islamabad’s red zone.
On the other hand, Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM),Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and Sunni Tehreek (ST) also announced day of mourning on Sunday.
All Pakistan Traders Association’s General Secretary Naeem Mir has supported the call and appealed the traders to close their business and trade facilities on Sunday.
