MQM seeks govt assurance on justice dispensation to Altaf

KARACHIl: The MQM leader Farooq Sattar said the government must seek assurance from British government of providing justice and better medical treatment to MQM chief Altaf Hussain, ARY News reported.

During a protest at Numaish intersection continuing for Tuesday night, MQM leader said the purpose of protest is to express solidarity with MQM chief.

He said closure of business activities and suspension of transport service in the city was voluntarily done by relevant stake holders.

“We want to express solidarity that Altaf Hussain must not consider himself alone,” said Sattar.

He said that peaceful protest was the policy of MQM. If anyone resorts of violent demonstration, it has nothing to do with the MQM, clarified Sattar.

Meanwhile, routine activities as well as business activities are at complete standstill in Karachi and various parts of Sindh following detention of MQM chief Altaf Hussain in London over money-laundering charges.

The city had descended into chaos after the news of Altaf’s arrest flashed across TV news channels yesterday, prompting people to rush their homes during mid-day in view of looming breakdown of law and order.

Various petrol stations, business centres are closed along with disappearance of public transport from roads. All educational centres are also closed in the city.
