MQM requests for allotment of seats in opposition benches

MQM, a day after deciding to quit the Pakistan People’s Party-led Sindh government, has submitted a requested at the office of the Speaker of Sindh Assembly for allotment of the seats to the party members at opposition benches.

Earlier, a meeting of MQM members was held with the party’s parliamentary leader Syed Sardar Ahmed in chair. After the meeting the party submitted the request for allotment of seats in opposition benches.

MQM leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan has said that the MQM believes in dialogue but not in hypocrisy in the name of reconciliation.

The MQM members staged a walkout from the Sindh Assembly against what it said was the verbal attacks levelled against it by the leadership of the Peoples Party.

The walkout followed scathing speech from Khawaja Izharul Hasan of the MQM who criticized the PPP leadership, which was responded by Sharjeel Inam Memon of the PPP.

Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani while talking to media called the MQM estrangement temporary adding that the misunderstanding will be resolved with talks.
