MQM, PSP leaders assure DG Rangers of their role for peace

During the meeting, representatives of all three parties assured the DG Rangers of full cooperation in bringing peace to the city.

DG Rangers said durable peace in the city was ensured in the wake of initiatives taken by the law enforcement agencies.

The workers of PSP and MQM had clashed in Hyderabad, creating law and order situation. The brawl had left at least 10 people injured.

The meeting of political leaders with DG Rangers occurred mainly to discuss measures for preventing such violent clashes in future.

Earlier, a delegation of PSP comprising Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaimkhani had met the DG Rangers.

On the occasion, Gen Akbar praised PSP’s politics of non-violence.

“PSP will continue its efforts for the sake of durable peace in Sindh, including Karachi, for we believe in non-violence,” PSP leaders told Gen Akbar.

The issue of missing persons also came under discussion at the meeting.

In a presser after the meeting with the DG Rangers, he said he was grieved over the death of MQM leader Farooq Sattar’s coordinator, Aftab Ahmed. Such incidents should not happen.
