MQM London expels Sabzwari, three other leaders from party

LONDON/KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London on Wednesday announced to revoke membership of party’s senior Pakistan chapter leaders over “violation of code of conduct”, ARY News reported.

According to a statement released by the party’s London chapter, a party meeting unanimously decided to revoke basic membership of MQM Pakistan leaders Khawaja Izharul Hasan, Amir Khan, Faisal Sabzwari and Kishwer Zahra for violating party’s code of conduct.

“Dr Farooq Sattar has already been expelled from the party,” says the statement.

The party’s London chapter urged all the MQM workers and sympathisers to stay away from these expelled leaders, adding that party chief Altaf Hussain has approved the decision taken during the meeting.

It is pertinent to mention here that MQM’s Pakistan chapter dissociated itself from party founder and chief Altaf Hussain’s statements after his Augustt 22 speech. Later, the party also amended its constitution and relieved clauses binding it to take guidance from Altaf Hussain.

MQM Pakistan is currently working under Farooq Sattar and has time and again claimed that London based leaders have no say in Pakistan chapter’s decisions.
