MQM extends 'day of mourning' till Monday

It should be noted that MQM is observing day of mourning over the alleged extra-judicial killing of their party worker.

MQM Chirman Altaf Hussain, addressing the party’s sit-in outside Chief Minister House in Karachi this morning, warned that the day of mourning will be extended to Monday if CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah does not come out of his home to console the relatives of the deceased party workers in 15 minutes.

“There will be no need for announcing the extension of mourning”, he said.

MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi confirmed that the day of mourning will continue tomorrow while shutter down strike will be observed across Sindh.

He said that the bodies of the slain workers will be taken to Jinnah Ground where their funeral prayers will be offered after which they will be laid to rest in different graveyards of the city.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has requested MQM to reconsider their decision.  He said that the demands of MQM to suspend the suspected police officers have been accepted.
