Altaf’s resignation will remain a dream for Siraj: Rizvi

Haider Abbas Rizvi expressed these views while replying to JI chief’s recent claim that Altaf Hussain will tender his resignation yet again on April 23 after NA-246 by-election and this time he would not take it back as is the usual practice.

Rizvi maintained that it does not suit a politician of JI chief’s stature to issue such a statement adding that he must remember that Altaf Hussain is and will remain MQM supremo till the last day of his life.

Criticising the JI chief, Rizvi claimed that Sirajul Haq talked a lot about women rights in today’s women rally while in his own area they do not allow women to use their right of vote.

Answering a question, MQM leader said that MQM chief will come to Pakistan with approval of Rabita Committee as soon as the investigation in cases against him end in London.

Earlier JI chief while addressing a gathering of the party’s women wing said this time he [Altaf Hussain], who had resigned nine times from party leadership before, will finally quit party leadership after losing by-election on April 23.

He added that the MQM chief can visit India but will never set foot in Karachi.

The gathering was organised as a part of JI’s campaign for NA-246 by-polls.

The NA-246 constituency of Karachi will witness a by-poll on April 23 as the seat fell vacant after Nabil Gabol who was elected on the ticket of MQM in the 2013 general elections, resigned after developing differences with the party.

A number of candidates are participating in the election with the most notable being MQM’s Kunwar Naveed Jamil, PTI’s Imran Ismail and JI’s Rashid Nasim. The by-polls are due to be held on April 23, 2015.
