KARACHI: Police on Thursday recovered a 12-year-old body of an aged woman from a garbage heap in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of the city, ARY News reported.
According to the details, the body identified as that of a woman named Zakia Khatoon was around 10 to 12 years old and was thrown in the trash heap by her brother.
As police questioned the deceased’s brother, Mehboob, he revealed that Zakia died years back but instead of burying her body, her children- a son and a daughter-kept it in a freezer at their residence “out of love for their mother”.
He added that his sister’s children- Ehsan and Shugufta- passed away four months leaving their flat empty and that he was unaware of his nephew and niece’s act and only discovered the body after arriving at their apartment about two days ago.

He maintained that now that he could not look after this body (only skeletal remains) he had no option but to throw it somewhere.
The police said that they will further investigate the matter and have sent the woman’s skeletal remains for a proper autopsy.
Later, Superintendent Police (SP) Gulshan and other officers have visited the scene after an inspection team unlocked the door of the flat from where the dead body was recovered.
Police officials said they did not find any suspicious material inside the flat, however, a large number of sacks packed with plastic were found inside the residence.
A team of forensic experts collected evidences after inspecting all rooms of the flat. Police said the deceased woman was a teacher at a government school.
Locals told police investigators that the activities of the siblings were suspicious. Police officials revealed that Qaiser had committed suicide while Shagufta was also dead some time ago.
The police department has decided to investigate the mystery into the aspect of murder and registered a case at Gulistan-e-Johar police station against unidentified persons after adding murder sections.
